October 12 AM. We are not in charge. We spent last night in the hospital for fetal monitoring while we administered prostaglandin to 'ripen' the cervix. This morning the cervix had improved, but was still considered "unfavorable". So, the decision was made go home and try again later rather than force the action and push the kid through a straw. We did feel better after the trip for several reasons. 1. The baby's head is correctly positioned and is far down into the pelvis (a good sign). 2. The baby continues to do well. 3. Sunshine was having regular (nonpainful) contractions which suggests that her body is moving in the correct direction. 4. Although small, there was some response to prostaglandins which also may mean that things are coming along. 5. The folks at the hospital were great. 6. I got this picture.

Quick summary: We're home again continuing the waiting game. We feel a bit like the boy who cried wolf as we keep thinking we'll have a baby coming out. Until next time...
